BEVERLY, Mass. — Former Endicott men's soccer standout Charles Badji (Dakar, Senegal) has signed a professional contract to play for the Minnesota TwinStars FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
The NPSL is an American semi-professional men's soccer league with over 90 teams competing across the country. The NPSL is a successor to the Men's Premier Soccer League (MPSL), which was formed in 2002.
"Charles possesses the physical and technical qualities of a professional level center back. He is dominant in winning aerial challenges with his head on defensive restarts and during the run of play," said Endicott men's soccer head coach Joe Calabrese. "In possession, he switches the play with long flighted diagonal passes to the outside back or winger and he is confident in playing passes vertically to break lines in the build-out phase."
Calabrese added.
"Our coaching staff and program are proud of Charles and look forward to watching him pursue his dream of playing professionally."
In 47 career games (43 starts) from 2018-21, Badji helped lead the Gulls to a 30-19-6 overall record (.600) and an 18-2-5 conference mark (.820).
Endicott qualified for the postseason in all three seasons (2020 not played due to COVID) previously mentioned and advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship in 2019.
Badji also was an All-Region Second Team selection in 2021 and a two-time All-CCC First Team honoree (2019, 2021).
His brother, Dominique, a forward, currently plays in the MLS for FC Cincinnati. For the latest on Endicott Athletics, follow the Gulls on social media on
