Second Half Surge Propels Men’s Soccer Past Suffolk, 2-0
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Suffolk University, 2-0, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday night at Hempstead Stadium.
Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland) and Fisher Mills (Ridgefield, Conn.) both scored off headers in the second half (56:29 | 73:08) to fuel the Gulls' victory.
Aidan Sheehan (Arlington, Mass.) set up both markers with a pair of long-distance crosses from the right flank.
In the 57th minute, Sheehan sent a majestic free kick from about 40 yards out to the back post for a wide-open Krysztoforski.
The senior back took care of the rest, leaping high into the air before rifling a header into the lower right corner of the net for the 1-0 advantage.
Sheehan was precise with his passing yet again in the 74th minute, this time following a feed from Tyler Walser (Duxbury, Mass.) in transition on the right wing.
After Sheehan one-touched the pass, he quickly looked up to the back post and found Mills near the penalty area unmarked for another header goal, which was pinpointed by the senior midfielder into the lower left side of the netting.
Endicott sophomore goalkeeper Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) registered his third shutout of the season with one save on 10 shots faced (4-2-0 overall, 11th career shutout).
