Mills, Mercieri Pick Up CNE Weekly Awards
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's soccer senior forward Fisher Mills (Ridgefield, Conn.) and freshman back Jackson Mercieri (Easton, Mass.) have been named the Conference of New England's (CNE) Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
FISHER MILLS
Mills had a very productive offensive showing for Endicott last week.
Despite Endicott's 2-1 road loss to Keene State, he scored a 35th minute goal that, at the time, put the Gulls up 1-0.
Then, on Saturday, the senior headed in a 74th minute dagger to bury Suffolk in a big 2-0 CNE win for the Blue and Green.
He also led the Gulls in shots (nine) and shots on goal (six) over the two-game stretch.
This is Mills' second career CNE Offensive Player of the Week award (11/4/24).
JACKSON MERCIERI
In Endicott's 1-1-0 week (1-0-0 CNE), Mercieri played nearly every minute at center back.
The freshman contributed to an Endicott defense that limited Keene State to five shots on net, and then followed up with shutting down a Suffolk offense that came in undefeated, holding the Rams to just one shot on net.
Mercieri came up big to stop a few near breakaways, keeping the Gulls' back line in check over the two games.
This is the first CNE Rookie of the Week in Mercieri's career.
