Men's Soccer Earns Hard-Fought Draw Against No. 4 Wheaton, 1-1
NORTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against No. 4 nationally ranked Wheaton on Tuesday afternoon at Keefe Field.
Carter McCoy (Monroe, Conn.) put home his first goal of the season via a late header to earn the road result for the Gulls.
In a competitive, back and forth first half, the Lyons took hold of a 1-0 lead after they blooped one in bar-down off an initially deflected shot.
The Gulls killed off the rest of the half with some positive momentum, but the Lyons headed to the break up 1-0.
Still trailing 1-0 in the 84th minute, the Gulls found the equalizer via McCoy, who headed in an Aidan Sheehan (Arlington, Mass.) set piece free kick from 30+ yards out.
The Lyons worked a few more late chances, but the Gulls defense and Ethan Harrison (Sandy Springs, Ga.) stood tall to keep the game deadlocked.
Harrison made his first career start for the Gulls in net. The Georgia Southern transfer made seven saves in his Endicott debut.
