    Endicott men's tennis downed 7-2 by non-conference opponent Babson

    BEVERLY, Mass. – In their final action before the start of the CCC Tournament on Saturday, the Endicott men’s tennis team lost 7-2 to NEWMAC foe Babson to end their regular season 9-11 overall.  Babson ended their season on a high note as they wrap up the 2012 year with a 6-12 record.

    As the \#4 seed, the Gulls now look forward to their CCC Quarterfinal match at home against \#5 Western New England, a team they defeated 9-0 back on April 14th in Beverly.

    Against the Beavers, Endicott managed only to score points in the \#3 doubles and \#3 singles matches.  Freshman Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) and sophomore Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) edged out their Babson opponents 8-6 in three doubles as Endicott went into singles play down 2-1.

    Gulls senior captain Porter Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) captured another close win at the \#3 singles flight, winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

    Babson was able to take two out of three doubles matches and all but one singles match in their regular season finale. 

    In doubles, first year player Ramone Doyley (Kingston, Jamaica) and sophomore Hubert Cromback (Cambridge, Mass.) teamed up to win 9-7 at the top doubles position.  Roy Murdock (Santa Monica, Calif.) and Zach Ringer (Minnetonka, Minn.) followed with an 8-4 win at \#2 doubles.

    Doyley earned his second point of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at \#1 singles and so did Ringer who won 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 in the fifth spot.  Nissim Cohen-Sabban (Chula Vista, Calif.), Danny Schneider (Littleton, Mass.), and Rushab Tanna (Burlington, Mass.) all won in straight sets in singles action.
