Cermik, Pierce Sweep CCC Men’s Tennis Weekly Awards
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men’s tennis student-athletes Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) and Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) have both earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today. Pierce was named the CCC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Cermik was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week.
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's tennis student-athletes Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) and Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) have both earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today. Pierce was named the CCC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Cermik was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week.
In a 9-0 win over Salem State University last week, Pierce claimed an impressive 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles over Vikings' freshman Chen Chen (Lawrence, Mass.), and also teamed up with Keaton McCleary (Newtown, Conn.) for an 8-4 triumph at No. 1 doubles against John Didonato (Newbury, Mass.) and Conner Erickson (Hubbardston, Mass.).
Cermik picked up his first collegiate victory in singles play at the No. 6 slot with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over David Dluznieski (Auburn, Mass.).
