In doubles play, the No. 2 pairing of Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) and Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass.) earned a hard-fought 8-5 decision to avoid the sweep.
The Gulls also saw Oliver Pope (Dartmouth, Mass.) win 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 4 singles, while George Danes (Old Lyme, Conn.) rounded out the list of highlights with a gritty 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5) triumph at No. 5.
