COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Endicott men's tennis team fell to Saint Michael's College by a score of 7-0 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Tarrant Recreation Center in Colchester.
In No. 3 doubles action, the duo of Eric Scalici (Essex Falls, N.J.) and Spencer Smith (Albany, N.Y.) battled throughout before being defeated, 7-5.
Saint Michael's captured the six singles matches in straight sets, with freshman Drew Benporath (South Gildford, Western Australia) playing to a 6-4, 6-3 setback in second singles for the Gulls.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This marked the second match of the season between the two teams.
- Saint Michael's is one of three Division II opponents that Endicott has played this season, along with Assumption and Bentley.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (2-6) opens conference play when it hosts Curry on Thursday, March 19, at 3 PM. St. Michael's (7-4) hosts Bentley on Saturday, March 28 at 3 PM.
