Men's Tennis Sweeps Curry, 7-0, In Conference Opener
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Curry, 7-0, in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the South Tennis Courts.
The Gulls dominated from start to finish at home.
The Blue and Green swept all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Eric Scalici (Essex Fells, N.J.) and Spencer Smith (Albany, N.Y.) earned a 6-2 victory at No. 1, while Greg Noroian (Worcester, Mass.) and James Zeolie (Amherst, N.H.) secured a 6-0 sweep at No. 2. Finally, Balthazar Glover (Amherst, N.H.) and Brian Ward (Westport, Mass.) were victorious 6-1.
In singles action, the Gulls swept all six matches to secure the 7-0 victory. Smith won the opening match at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0, while Zeolie followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5.
Then at No. 6, Ward was victorious in an identical scoreline, 6-1, 6-0. Noroian won convincingly at No. 4, 6-2, 6-0, then Brennan Drolet (North Smithfield, R.I.) took home a victory at No. 3, 6-0, 6-1.
Finally, Ethan Hopman (Summit, N.J.) wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1.
