DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team fell to Nichols College, 6-1, in a Conference of New England (CNE) matchup on Wednesday evening at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
Nichols earned the first point of the match after sweeping doubles, despite hard-fought 6-4 losses from the Gulls' No. 1 pairing of Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) / Aaron Terpko (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and the No. 3 pairing of Eric Scalici (Essex Falls, N.J.) / Spencer Smith (Albany, N.Y.).
In singles, Drew Benporath (South Guildford, Western Australia) grinded out a come-from-behind victory (3-6, 6-4, 10-7) to give Endicott its lone point of the match.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Benporath is undefeated in CNE singles play (5-0)
- Last season, the two squads squared off in the CNE Semifinals.
