Gulls Set New Records with 18th Win

Endicott defeated NECVA-NE opponent Emmanuel College 3-1 (30-24, 24-30, 30-16, 30-21) to follow suit of the conference standings of Endicott at two and Emmanuel at three. With the victory, Endicott set new program records for both overall and conference wins in a season. The Gulls now stand proud at 18-12 (15-2 NECVA-NE).
Endicott set more than just a wins in a season record. They also set a team record for aces in a four-game match with 14, led by Jeremy Fontaine with a 4-game match record five and Friedland with four. Friedland, a junior, also led the Gulls to a new record for blocks in a four game match, with nine (4 solo, 5 assist) of the team's fourteen and a half.
Pablo Baez spread out the Gull offense (39 assists), as Jeremy Fontaine and Eric Hunter had double-digit kills and Eddie Marchand was close with nine. Fontaine had 13 kills in his offensive effort, while Hunter had 10 kills and two aces. Freshman, Marchand tossed over three aces of his own. Defensively, libero Craig Steszewski led all players with 14 digs.
Stephen Yates led Emmanuel on offense as he tallied 16 kills. Yates' efforts were supported by NECVA-NE player of the week Mike Mazur with nine kills. Mazur and Trevor Blanchet worked together to set the defensive pace for the Saints as they tallied five blocks each. Chris Robles played hard in the back row to dig a team-leading nine of Endicott's kill attempts.
The Gulls finish out regular season conference play as they travel to New Hampshire to face No. 6 in the nation (AVCA Poll) Rivier College on Saturday, March 27 for a 6:00 PM match.
