Gulls Win Second Straight Five-Game Match

BOSTON, MA - The Endicott College men's volleyball toppled Emmanuel College, 3-2, Tuesday night. The visitors won 30-23, 31-33, 30-21, 26-30 and 15-9.
The upstart Gulls, who have just two seniors and two juniors on the roster, are now 2-0, winning each match this season in five games. EC won four straight games to begin the 2005 campaign. Tonight was Emmanuel's season opener.
Freshman Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton) and senior co-captain Mike Coflesky (Royalston, MA/Athol) each had 19 kills in the victory. Ostrander also recorded four aces and 10 digs while junior Matt Keepin (Harwinton, CT/Lewis S. Millis) added 10 kills and senior co-captain Eric Hunter (Delmaer, NY/Bethlehem) set up most of the attacks, finishing with 44 assists.
Freshman Dan Coleman (Millis, MA/Millis) dug up 16 balls and junior George Chapell (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) chipped in five blocks.
The Gulls return to MacDonald Gymnasium Thursday night when they host Wentworth at 7.
