Netherton and Bacon Help Endicott Secure Home Court in Upcoming NECC Tournament

NASHUA, N.H. – The Endicott men's volleyball, for the third straight season, will have home court advantage throughout the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament after defeating Daniel Webster 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-18) to clinch the top seed. The Gulls hit .329 as a team and got a team-high 10 kills and four blocks from senior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) as Endicott wrapped up their third regular season win over the Eagles on Saturday.

Endicott (15-8, 10-1 NECC) has now won five matches in-a-row and six straight NECC contests. The Blue and Green have five matches remaining before the conference tournament begins on April 11^th starting with Newbury (6-16, 3-7) on Thursday, April 3^rd at home. Endicott defeated Newbury 3-0 back on February 19^th in their previous meeting.

Netherton turned in a 10-2-16 (.500) line courtesy of 32 assists from sophomore setter Tyler Bacon (Cypress, Calif.) who also distributed eight kills to sophomore outside John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.). Osborne has excelled against the Eagles this season with a .342 hitting percentage and continued that success today with 14 errorless swings (.571).

Also contributing on Saturday were senior Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) and Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) who tallied seven and six kills, respectively. The two combined for three solo blocks as well.

Opposing the Daniel Webster attack, Osborne led the team with 10 digs with senior right side Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.) adding nine digs in the win. The Gulls were able to hold the Eagles to just a .080 attack percentage (24-17-88) with eight team blocks.

Endicott improved to 15-0 all-time versus Daniel Webster, including a perfect 6-0 under second-year head coach George Chapell.
