Endicott Places Sixth At CNE Championship
WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott men's cross country team placed sixth overall at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Gordon College.
Roger Williams captured its fifth straight conference title, as the Hawks placed their entire scoring lineup inside the top-15 (1-2-7-11-13).
Wentworth (68), Hartford (70), Gordon (130), Suffolk (135), Endicott (164), Western New England (176), Nichols (214), UNE (228), and Curry (269) made up the remainder of the team standings.
Dawson Romito (Boxford, Mass.) finished sixth overall with a personal best time of 26:04.53 on the 8-kilometer course.
For his efforts, Romito claimed CNE All-Conference honors for the first time in his career by ranking among the 15 best runners at the meet.
Micah Erickson (Bismarck, N.D.) placed 22nd overall (27:18.37, PR), while Caleb Sklar (Portland, Ore.) also broke into the top-50 (48th, 28:28.35).
Jonah Potach (Marblehead, Mass.) and Jonathan Rodrigues (Walpole, Mass.) rounded out the top-5 in 55th (28:44.55) and 66th (29:14.62).

"Today's races showed how much this team has stuck together this season. The strength they have shown to believe in each other and invest in the growth of this team has been with them every step of the way," said Endicott men's cross country head coach Spencer Lange. "They put themselves out there with the trust and confidence from their preparation, and it came together in such a great way. While we still have more to go this season, today really was a great day to be a Gull. Strong competition, beautiful XC weather, and the spirit of this group were inspiring to see."
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Endicott's top-5 average was 27:58 (3:10 spread), which ranked tied for the best output this season on an 8-kilometer course.
- Romito improved 15 spots from last year's CNE Championship performance.
- The top-15 runners in the meet earn CNE All-Conference accolades (first 5 1st team, next 5 second team, final 5 third team).
- Henry Bybee (Hampton, N.H.), Griffin DePalma (Meriden, Conn.), and Dimitri Kontos (Lexington, Mass.) posted season-best times of 29:15.99 (67th), 29:46.85 (80th), and 29:53.84 (83rd).

Endicott will compete at the NCAA Division III East Regionals on Saturday, November 15, in Contoocook, N.H.
