Endicott Turns Two

Kissimmee, FL - Maria Mangine (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and Robyn Savitske (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) each pitched complete games leading the Gulls to wins over Millikin University and Hamilton.
EC defeated Millikin 1-0 thanks to Mangine's seven inning, three hit shutout. The freshmen pitcher struck out five improving her season record to 1-1. The Gulls got the games lone run in the top of the first inning taking advantage of two hits and two Big Blue errors.
Sarah Spaziano (Norton, MA/Norton) reached on an error, advanced to second on an error and came around to score on a Rachel Person (Gales Ferry, CT/Ledyard) RBI single.
In Endicott's second game of the day the Gulls defeated Hamilton College, 3-2. Robyn Savitske allowed just one earned run on six hits over seven innings while striking out seven.
EC took a 1-0 lead in the third inning as Dottie Bartsch (Salisbury, MA/Triton) led the inning off with a single, she would come around to score on a sacrifice fly from Meghan Sargent (Salisbury, MA/Triton).
The Blue would bounce back scoring two runs in the top of the sixth inning after back to back doubles from Amber O'Connor (Pembroke, Ontario /Lawrenceville) and Jen Sadowsky (Allendale, NJ/Saddle River Day) and an Endicott fielding error, giving Hamilton a 2-1 lead.
The Gulls answered right back picking up two runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth. Jackie Collier (Swampscott, MA/Bishop Fenwick) got things going for Endicott hitting a one out single and coming around to score. Game one winner, Maria Magine, drove in the game winner with a sacrifice fly, scoring Danielle Sargent (Sabattus, ME/Oak Hill) securing the 3-2 win for EC and handing Hamilton its sixth straight loss.
Endicott improves its record to 5-3 on the year and will wrap up its play at the 2007 Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida on Thursday with a game against Buena Vista at 9:00 am and a game against Wellesley at 11:00 am. After finishing play in Florida the Gulls will return to New England for a double header against Roger Williams on Tuesday March 27, 2007.
