Why Endicott? Why Division III?

She wanted a school that would prepare her for her future career and she felt that Endicott's internship program would give her the most opportunities to grow. The people are amazing here and she wanted to step into an athletics program with a winning culture, Endicott was the perfect fit.

Professional Aspirations

She completed an internship at Tewksbury Memorial High School in January 2020, and is hoping to obtain an internship shadowing teachers at a local middle school. In 10 years, she sees herself being an educator in high school and possibly a coach who takes learning beyond the material and into life as well.

Katie on her internship expereince:

"In January 2020, I interned at Tewksbury Memorial High School which was a great experience. During my time there, I worked closely with numerous teachers of the 9th and 10th grade math department where I shadowed and progressively engaged with the students. This internship confirmed my hopes to become a high school math teacher and excites me for my future."

Clubs and Organizations

Played travel softball for the Polar Crush. She is also a member of the Education Club and Campus Activities Board, as well as a student manager of the Endicott Men's Basketball team.

Community Service

In high school, she assisted coaching the St. John's CYO girls' basketball team for four years and was a mentor for the North Shore Rovers Special Olympic Soccer Program for two years. On campus, she helped with Endicott's Safe Trick-or-Treat and set up decorations for Endicott's 9/11 Remembrance.

Katie on her community service experience:

"Volunteering my time with the CYO basketball team meant a lot to me because I spent four years watching the girls develop into great players and even better young adults. It was great to provide them a female role model because I know how much I looked up to the older student-athletes when I was their age. I was able to teach these girls my love for sports while also help each girl through the tough aspects of middle school.

Fun Facts

She threw the first pitch at a Red Sox game, and she will be a Red Sox ball girl for the upcoming 2020 season. Mother Jody Watts played basketball at the University of Vermont and Cousin Megan Marocco played soccer at Clark University.
