Softball Upends Suffolk Twice, Home Run & Total Base Records Fall In Game One
EAST BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott softball team swept Suffolk, 17-4 and 9-0, in a pair of five-inning conference games on Wednesday evening at East Boston Memorial Field.

GAME ONE: Endicott 17, Suffolk 4
WP (9-3): Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) — 3 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
LP (2-6): Ashlyn Conley (Mansfield, Mass.) — 3 IP, 10 H, 10 R, 10 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
The Gulls hit a single-game program record eight homers to run away with the win.
Chloe Shapleigh (Lynnfield, Mass.) tied the program record for home runs with three, while Raven Comtois (Milford, N.H.) and Chrissy Marotto (Southington, Conn.) both launched two.
Meanwhile, Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) rounded out the group with a two-run shot in the fourth.
Shapleigh finished the contest going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and six RBI (tied second all-time) to help the Gulls break the program's single-game total bases record (44).
The previous home run (6) and total base (36) program records were both set against Gordon on April 27, 2006.
GAME TWO: Endicott 9, Suffolk 0
WP (11-3): Jaylin Couto (Taunton, Mass.) — 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
LP (4-7): Ava Brandow (Cranston, R.I.) — 5 IP, 8 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 7 K
The home run was the story once again as the Gulls scored all nine of their runs via the long ball to complete the sweep.
Emma DaSilva (Bristol, R.I.) belted a grand slam in the first, while Comtois launched a two-run homer in the second.
Lindsay Joubert (Haverhill, Mass.) also hit a solo shot in the fifth before Christina Nowicki (Chelsea, Mass.) capped the scoring in the frame with a two-run shot.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- The Gulls rank second in the conference with 25 homers.
- Endicott has won six in a row.
- The Gulls improved to 10-2 on the road this season.

Endicott (24-7, 12-2 CCC) hosts Wentworth this Saturday at 12/2 PM. This weekend's matchup will serve as Senior Day for the program. Suffolk (9-19, 6-8 CCC) hosts Curry on Saturday 12/2 PM.
