Beebe's Career-Best Strikeout Performance Powers The Gulls Past UNE; Game Two Postponed

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott softball team defeated UNE, 9-6, in a Conference of New England (CNE) matchup on Wednesday afternoon at the Softball Complex. 

GAME ONE: ENDICOTT 9, UNE 6

WP (3-1): Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H.) — 6.1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 14 K
LP (1-3): Liv Arvidson (Tilton, N.H.) — 2.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

The Blue and Green never trailed, scoring in every inning except the fifth to secure a 13-9 victory over UNE, before game two was postponed due to rain. 

The Gulls were led by Ella Tower (Windham, N.H.), going 3-for-4 on the day with three RBI, while Ava Kelley (Norfolk, Mass.) also notched three hits.

The offense was highlighted by Catherine Seay (Marlborough, Mass.), who launched her first career home run down the right field line in the bottom of the second, adding two runs to the board.

Abby McClaflin (Easthampton, Mass.), Elyse Saccoccio (Coventry, R.I), Seay, and Vania Moniz (Salem, N.H.) all recorded two hits in the victory, while Kylyn McLaren (Rochester, N.H.) tallied two RBIs. 

Beebe dominated in the circle, fanning more than half of the batters she faced to set a new career high with 14.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Endicott leads the all-time series, 50-13 (30-6 at home).
• Seay recorded a single-game career-high two RBI.
• Saccoccio notched her first triple of the season.
