Softball Downs No. 12 Nationally Ranked Tufts, 11-4
MEDFORD, Mass. — The Endicott softball team defeated No. 12 Tufts University, 11-4, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Spicer Field.
WP (3-1): Emma Sheehan (Plainsville, Mass.) — 3.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
LP (6-2): Francesca Colangelo (Fairfield, Conn.) — 0.1 IP, 3 H, 3R,1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
SV (4): Analise Grady (Reading, Mass.) — 3.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
The offense was powered by Mia Mitchell (Medford, Mass.), Abby McClaflin (Easthampton, Mass.), and Kylyn McLaren (Rochester, N.H.), who each tallied three hits on the day. McLaren also added a career-high six RBI in the victory.
The Gulls jumped out to an early 4–0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
Tufts answered with two runs in the bottom half of the frame, but the Blue and Green quickly responded in the following inning with consecutive hits from Elyse Saccoccio (Coventry, R.I.), Maddie Beeley (Salem, N.H.), and McLaren, bringing in three more runs and pushing the lead to 7-2.
In the fourth inning, McLaren launched a three-run home run over the center field fence to make the advantage 10-2.
Each side added a run late, but Endicott maintained control down the stretch to secure the nationally ranked victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- First nationally ranked win since 4/18/23 against No. 25 MIT, 2-0, in Beverly.
- McLaren's six RBI rank tied for third all-time in the single-game program record books.
- Grady collected her 10th career save, becoming the only student-athlete in program history to record double-digits in the category.

Endicott (13-9, 7-2 CNE) hosts the University of New England tomorrow, April 16 at 4 PM. No. 12 Tufts (21-7) welcomes Middlebury College to campus on Saturday, April 18 at 12/2 PM.
