Yuneman Scores Game-High 16 in Endicott win

BEVERLY, MA - Endicott College senior guard Liz Yuneman (Middle Village, NY/St. Francis Prep) put home a game-high 16 points to pace the hosts in a 66-58 victory over Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Colby-Sawyer College Saturday at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Endicott snapped a three-game slide to move to 5-4 (2-0 CCC) while the Chargers fell to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the CCC. The Gulls were powered to their third straight win over Colby-Sawyer thanks to a terrific bench, which contributed 38 points and 25 rebounds.
Junior guard Kate Harte (Warner, NH/Kearsarge Regional) added 10 points off the bench while senior starting guard Jodi Brown (Coventry, RI/Coventry) and freshman reserve forward Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, NH/Central Catholic) each scored eight points. Brown also had four steals and three rebounds.
Junior Paris Sanders (Needham, MA/Minuteman Technical) was another catalyst off the bench. In 14 minutes of play, Sanders netted six points, grabbed eight rebounds (3 offensive boards) and had two blocks. Freshman backup center Nicole Young (Rockland, MA/Cardinal Spellman) had six points, four rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in 16 minutes of action.
Senior forward Kristen Sorensen (Coventry, CT/Coventry) led the visitors with 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists while sophomore forward Noelle Surette (Hollis, ME/Waynflete) chipped in 14 points and five boards. Senior forward Anne Coulter (Hudson, NH/Bishop Guertin) and junior center Stacey Hildreth (Winchester, NH/Thayer) had 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Endicott limited the Chargers to 26 percent shooting in the first half and grabbed a 30-23 halftime lead. The Gulls shot 35 percent in the game but only hit 3-of-19 attempts from beyond the arc and out-rebounded the visitors 46-40.
The Gulls host No. 25 Salem State Tuesday night (7) while Colby-Sawyer tangles with Middlebury in Vermont Tuesday night (5:30).
