No. 15 Brandeis Tops EC 77-34

WALTHAM, MA - The Endicott College women's basketball fell to nationally ranked Brandeis University, 77-34 on Sunday afternoon.
Brandeis (4-0), the No. 15 team in the nation according to d3hoops.com and No. 16 by the WBCA, scored the game's first eight points and went ahead by a 24-10 margin on a 3-pointer by sophomore Lauren Orlando (Peabody, MA/Peabody) with 9:40 left in the half. The Judges would lead by as many as 23 in the first half as they held Endicott to 19 percent shooting in the half (5-26), taking a 36-16 lead into the looker room.
The Judges were led by Orlando, who had 13 points off the bench. She hit four-of-five from the floor, including two-of-three from beyond the arc, and was a perfect three-for-three from the line.
Brandeis shot 45 percent from the floor (27-60) and 3-point range (9-20). The Judges also owned a 43-33 rebounding advantage and forced 27 turnovers.
Endicott (1-2) got a strong performance from sophomore forward Nicole Young (Rockland, MA/Cardinal Spellman), as she had 12 points on four-of-14 from the floor with a three-pointer and went three-of-four from the line.
Young also led the Gulls with seven rebounds to tie for game-high honors. Junior forward Sara Doherty (Somerville, MA/Arlington Catholic.) had two assists, while sophomore guard Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, NH/Central Catholic) made three steals for Endicott.
Brandeis travels to Wheaton College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday for their first road game of the season, while Endicott is at Suffolk University at 6:00 p.m. the same day.
