Senior guard Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H.) and sophomore guard Lance Greene (Dorchester, Mass.) were named to the d3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Team. Wright was named to the Northeast Region First Team while Greene garnered Fourth Team honors.
Ashley Wright started all 27 games for the Gulls and averaged a team-high 18.3 points per game, good for fifth in the northeast region and 40th nationally. She set a career high with 31 points against Emerson and eclipsed 1,000 career points by scoring 28 in a win at Nichols on January 11. Wright went 8-for-9 from beyond the arc in that game and eventually finished the season ranked 7th in the country in three-point field goals per game at 3.1. She also finished 48th nationally and eighth in the northeast in steals per game at 3.2.
Wright capped a stellar four-year career with an All-The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) First Team nod. She was also named the league’s Senior Scholar-Athlete and was a finalist for the prestigious Josten’s Award, which honors the top Division III men’s and women’s basketball player in the country.
This is the second time this season she has been recognized by d3hoops.com. Wright was named to the “Team of the Week” on January 18 after scoring her 1,000th career point and averaging 27.1 points per game in a pair of conference wins. She finished with 1,259 career points at Endicott.
Lance Greene helped guide the Endicott men’s basketball team to its most successful season in five years. The Gulls finished 17-10 and advanced to the TCCC Tournament semifinals where they lost in the final minute to host Wentworth.
Greene was a First Team All-TCCC selection after averaging a team-high 15 points per game in his first full year with the Gulls. He led the team in scoring in 12 games this year in addition to dishing out 62 assists and pulling down 116 boards. Greene exploded for a career-high 30 points in a regular-season win over Wentworth and flirted with a quadruple-double against Framingham State earlier in the season (11 points, 10 steals, 7 assists, 7 steals).
