Beverly, Mass. – Endicott women's basketball junior forward Hannah Shaw (Bar Harbor, Maine) has collected D3Hoops.com 2016-17 Women's Basketball All-Northeast Region Fourth Team honors, as announced earlier this week.
Shaw, a first-time D3hoops.com All-Region selection, was one of three Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) representatives on the list this year. She is the fourth student-athlete in Endicott women's basketball history to receive All-Region honors, and the first forward and junior to do so.
In her junior campaign for the Gulls, Shaw earned her second All-CCC selection (Third Team last season and was the 2014-15 Rookie of the Year.) Shaw, who was an All-CCC First Team honoree this season, was Endicott's team leader in scoring at 14.4 ppg (5th in CCC). She also ranked in the top-10 in rebounding (3rd, 8.1 rpg), three-point percentage (6th, 33.8 percent), and field goal percentage (8th, 41.6 percent) despite appearing in just 18 games (16 starts) after missing a chunk of the season due to injury.
Shaw was a two-time CCC Player of the Week (12/05/16, 02/20/17) and was named to the Skidmore College Invitational All-Tournament Team. Shaw tied the program record for most steals in a game with nine against Curry on Nov. 30, 2016 and tied for the second-most rebounds in a game (20) at Nichols on Feb. 8, 2017 to highlight her junior season. She also now holds the program record for single-season defensive rebounds average with 6.8 on the year.
The Gulls finished the season at 13-13 overall after compiling a 12-6 record in conference play. Endicott made its 15th-straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason appearance and 21st overall in the 24 years as a varsity program since its inception during the 1993-94 season.
