BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's ice hockey student-athletes Rivers Morris (Braintree, Mass.) and Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) have been named Conference of New England (CNE) Player and Goalie of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office earlier today.
In a 3-0-0 (2-0-0 CNE) week for the Gulls, Morris recorded five points (two goals and three assists) and had at least one point every game. The senior was also a team-high +5 during the week.
Morris had an assist in Endicott's 4-2 win over Wesleyan (Conn.) and then followed that up with a goal and assist in both games versus Curry.
On Friday the Braintree, Mass. native was a +3 rating along with a +2 rating on Saturday against Curry.
In Endicott's 4-0 win over Curry, Moritz stopped 27 shots en route to her fourth shutout this season and 10th of her career.
After Curry trailed 2-0 headed to the third period, the Colonels put 12 shots on goal during the final 20 minutes and Moritz stopped them all to secure the road conference victory.
This is Morris' first Player of the Week honor this season and fourth of her career. The weekly honor is the second for Moritz this season and seventh of the junior's career.
