Gulls Defeat Keene State 15-8
March 11, 2005
Beverly, MA - In the Endicott women's lacrosse home opener, the Gulls picked up their first win of the season by playing a complete game against the visiting Owls, both offensively and defensively.
Keene State opened up the scoring in the first moments of the game, but it would be their only lead of the match. Endicott's Lauren Gibbons (Jr/Shaker Heights, OH) answered with a goal of her own to tie it at 1-1, and Endicott scored their second goal seconds later to take the lead for good.
Endicott defenders held Keene to just one goal in second-half play, to win 15-8 in regulation. Gulls attacker Christine Wilmott (Sr/Barre, VT) led all scorers with seven goals and one assist. Sophomore attacker Lindsey O'Connell (Mansfield, MA) followed with four goals of her own, Cathy Sharp (Jr/Rutland, VT) picked up two goals, while Heather Hatfield (Jr/Tyngsboro, MA) and Gibbons rounded out the scoring with one goal each.
Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH) recorded 11 saves in the win.
The Gulls look to remain undefeated as they take on Regis College next week away in Westin, MA.
