Gulls To Face Roger Williams Saturday In 2016 CCC Championship
BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 2 seed Endicott women's lacrosse team will meet No. 1 Roger Williams University in the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday, May 7th at 12:00 p.m. at Bayside Field where the winner will receive the conference’s automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 2 seed Endicott women's lacrosse team will meet No. 1 Roger Williams University in the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday, May 7th at 12:00 p.m. at Bayside Field where the winner will receive the conference's automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
The Gulls (8-9 overall) earned the second seed in the conference tournament after posting a 6-2 record in CCC play and are making a postseason appearance for the 17th time in program history. Roger Williams (14-3) was awarded the top seed after running the table in conference play with a perfect 8-0 record.
Endicott defeated No. 3 seed University of New England, 14-10, on Wednesday in the CCC Semifinals, while Roger Williams rallied from a four-goal second half deficit to stun No. 4 Western New England, 12-11, in the other conference semifinal on May 4th.

POSTSEASON HISTORY
In her second season at the helm, head coach Morgan Maciewicz (19-15) has led the Gulls to back-to-back postseason appearances, as Endicott is coming off a 15-6 loss to Roger Williams in the CCC Semifinals that snapped a streak of nine straight conference titles brought home to Beverly from 2006 to 2014. The Gulls have made a conference postseason tournament in 17 of 21 seasons as a varsity program at Endicott and will be competing in the program's 12th championship game in search of banner number 10. The Gulls are 9-2 all-time in a title game and 9-1 in the CCC with the lone loss coming in 2005.

ENDICOTT (8-9, 6-2 CCC) | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS: Following an 0-5 start to the season through a gauntlet of non-conference opponents, the Gulls responded by winning six of their last seven conference games to clinch the second seed. Endicott is led in scoring by All-CCC First Team junior midfielder Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.) who has 35 goals, 22 assists, and 55 points on the season, bringing her to 190 career points that ranks eighth on the all-time Endicott points list, eighth in goals, and fifth in career assists. All-CCC Second Team sophomore attack Erin McCarthy (Old Lyme, Conn.) is currently second on the team in goals (29) and points (35) and ranks in a three-way tie for sixth all-time for most free-position goals in a single season with 14 this year. All-CCC Third Team freshman midfielder Ali Campbell (Lakeville, Mass.) is second on the team in assists (14) and third in points (29), while scooping up a team-high 35 ground balls and winning 40 draw controls (team's second-highest). The Gulls' defense led by All-CCC First Team/CCC Defensive Player of the Year junior Chelsea Burke's (Georgetown, Mass.) team-high 17 caused turnovers, All-CCC Third Team senior defenders Elizabeth Reda (Wilton, Conn.) and Brenna Shannon (Stratham, N,.H.), and All-CCC Third Team goalie Maura Grady (Marblehead, Mass.) has allowed the third-fewest goals in conference play (49) and second-lowest goals against average against conference opponents (8.35).
ROGER WILLIAMS (14-3, 8-0 CCC) | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS: The Hawk are making their third straight appearance in the conference championship game and RWU's sixth appearance overall.The Hawks are led by the CCC's top goal scorer in CCC Offensive Player of the Year McKenna Everding (Fayetteville, N.Y.) who has 74 tallies on the season, while All-CCC First Team sophomore attack Kaelin Hogan (Bethel, Conn.) has the second-most assists in the CCC on the season (38) and is the conference's points leader with 99. All-CCC First Team freshman midfielder Emily Stoeppel(Brookfield, Conn.) took home CCC Rookie of the Year honors as she scored 26 goals and dished out 24 assists earning her the third spot in both categories for her team. All-CCC First Team junior Kimberley Bolk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) has allowed the fewest goals on the season (123) and sports the best goals-against average (7.21) of all teams in the CCC. Head coach Lisa Vogeley garnered Coach of the Year honors after leading the Hawks to their first undefeated CCC record and earned the top seed in her third season at the helm.
