    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team lost to Springfield, 17-7, in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Stagg Field.

    Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) scored twice, while Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Katie Wagner (Brewster, N.Y.), Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.), Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.), and Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.) all scored solo tallies in the setback.

    In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) was dealt the loss (2-4) despite an 11-save effort.

    Springfield used a 5-0 run in the third quarter (10:57-3:14) to break open its slim 7-6 lead and never looked back.

    BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

    • The Pride are 2-1 at home this season.
    • Endicott still leads the all-time series, 5-2.
    • The Gulls' three-game winning streak against Springfield was snapped.
