Women’s Lacrosse Pulls Away From Roger Williams, 12-10
BRISTOL, R.I —The Endicott women’s lacrosse team took down Roger Williams, SCORE, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
BRISTOL, R.I —The Endicott women's lacrosse team took down Roger Williams, 12-10, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
Tied 8-8 at the 11:18 minute mark of the third period, the Gulls went on a 4-2 run to close out the game and capture the tightly contested victory.
Katy Garvin (Mansfield, Mass.) and Mia Smith (Portsmouth, R.I) both recorded hat tricks, while Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) and Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.) scored twice in the win.
Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H) and Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) rounded out the list of goal scorers for the Gulls with one solo tally each.
Defensively, Schenk caused a game-high four turnovers, while Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H) corralled three ground balls and caused three turnovers.
In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) stopped 10 shots en route to her fifth win of the season (5-5).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The triumph marked Endicott's first win at Roger Williams since 4/4/18 (14-9 victory).
- Endicott is 28-7 in the all-time series versus Roger Williams.
- The Gulls held the Hawks to their lowest points scored in CCC play so far this season.
- Smith notched the second hat trick of her collegiate career.
- The Gulls are on a three-game winning streak.
