    • Three Gulls Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

    BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott student-athletes Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.), Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.), and Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) have received Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honors for the first time in their respective careers.

    BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott student-athletes Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.), Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.), and Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) have received Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honors for the first time in their respective careers.

    Schenk was selected to the Pilgrim Region First Team, while Akins and Darrah were chosen to the Second Team.

    All three Gulls are now eligible for IWLCA All-America honors. The IWLCA will announce its 2023 All-America teams on Wednesday, May 24.

    In 19 games played this season (all starts), Schenk compiled 36 goals and three assists for 39 points. 

    Schenk also notched 26 ground balls, 58 draw controls, and 12 caused turnovers.

    For her efforts, Schenk was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC First Team earlier this month.

    LYDIA AKINS | JR. | G

    Akins registered a 10.49 goals against average (GAA), 152 saves (.484), and a 9-8 record in 17 games played (all starts) for the Gulls.

    Akins netted CCC Defensive Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team accolades for her performance in cage this season.

    She is the fourth straight honoree to earn the award for the Gulls and the 10th overall selection in program history. The latter figure leads the CCC all-time list as well.

    MATILDA DARRAH | JR. | D

    In 19 games (all starts), Darrah compiled six goals, one assist, seven points, 73 ground balls, 41 draw controls, and 39 caused turnovers.

    She received All-CCC First Team accolades for playing a pivotal role in Endicott posting a league-leading 5.25 GAA in conference-only games on the season.

    YEAR IN REVIEW

    Endicott went 11-8 overall and 8-0 in league play.

    The first-seeded Gulls advanced to the CCC Championship for the 17th time in program history before falling to Roger Williams in the title game.
