Women's Lacrosse Handles Johnson & Wales, 21-5; Spellman Earns 100th Win At Endicott
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team took down Johnson & Wales, 21-5, in a Conference of New England (CNE) matchup on Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium.
Endicott raced out to a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter and led 13-3 at halftime. The Gulls then outscored the Wildcats 8-2 in the second half to secure the home victory.
Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) led the way for Endicott with five goals, while Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.) added four goals and two assists for six points.
Meanwhile, Ava Amara (Granby, Conn.), Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), and Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.) all tallied two goals apiece.
Jenna Baccari (Woburn, Mass.), Sarah Brunelle (Pelham, N.H.), Libby Hooper (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), Sophia Notine (Kennebunk, Maine), Mia Samarjian (Stow, Mass.), and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) rounded out the goal scorers for Endicott as they all found the back of the net once.
In goal, Severine Michel (Seekonk, Mass.) improved to 7-2 this season as the freshman made four saves.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- First all-time meeting between the two programs.
- Head coach Maureen Spellman earned her 100th career win at Endicott.
- For Black, her tally with 8:32 remaining in the second quarter marked the 100th of her career.
- Rose Wike (Berwyn, Pa.) made her collegiate debut.
- Fourth game this season with six or more points for Clark.
- Wendell also led the way with a career-high three caused turnovers.

Endicott (9-3, 6-0 CNE) travels to crosstown rival Gordon on Saturday, April 11, for a 12 PM matchup. Johnson & Wales (6-6, 4-3 CNE) hosts Curry on Saturday at 11 AM for Senior Day.
