SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 2 nationally ranked Endicott women’s rugby team fell to No. 6 SUNY Cortland, 34-10, in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Northeast Regional Championship on Sunday evening.

Despite the loss, Carolina Stubbs (Newtown, Conn.) was named the Heart and Soul Player of the Match for her infectious positive attitude and work ethic on the field.
Meanwhile, Cassidy McElhinney (Natick, Mass.) and Tess Merrill (Greenwich, N.Y.) both scored tries for the Gulls.
"I am very proud of the progress each student-athlete on our roster made throughout the season. Everyone was committed and pushed each other to be better," said Endicott women's rugby head coach Carly Barker. "We never lacked in effort and heart and you could see that in every match. We have a special group of coaches and student-athletes. Thank you to everyone who supported us this season. We will be back!"
