Two Major Honors Headline Eight Total Gulls on All-CCC Teams
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Following a regular season that saw the team post an 8-1-0 record in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play and a 13-5-1 record overall, the Endicott Women’s Soccer team was honored with seven players on the All-CCC teams as well as head coach Jodi Kenyon who received CCC Coach of the Year honors for the third time in her nine year career at Endicott. Joining Kenyon on the major awards was Sarah Person (Holden, Mass.) who was named as the CCC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year. Endicott, whose 8-1-0 record was tops in the conference, earned the top seed in the upcoming CCC tournament and will play eighth seeded Curry on Saturday at 1 p.m. Endicott tied with #2 Roger Williams with seven players on the All-CCC teams.

All-CCC first team honorees consisted of Jessica Joseph (Bedford, N.H.), Madison Missinne (Ridgefield, Conn.), Person and Katie Donnelly (Madison, Conn.). Second team winners included LeeAnn Card (Paxton, Mass.) and Clare Mansfield (Stoneham, Mass.) while Laura Wysocki (Somers, Conn.) earned Honorable Mention honors.
Person, CCC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year and First Team All-CCC honoree, received the first All-CCC honors of her career after headlining a defensive unit that allowed the lowest goals against (4) and goals against average (0.44) in conference play. The defender also registered her first two career points of her career as she tallied an assist against Salem State (1-1 tie) and Wentworth (3-1 win). Equally as impressive to her athletic performance are her off the field academic achievement. An Elementary Education major, Person has maintained a 3.82 grade point average in the classroom while the senior has earned Dean's List honors since she stepped on campus (six semesters). Person is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and the Education Honors Society at Endicott. She has logged over 1,500 hours in various educational facilities primarily in elementary schools teaching primary school children and has served as a peer mentor, while logging over 1,000 community service hours.
Joseph, a freshman, tied for the team lead in goals with fellow All-CCC honorees Missnne and Wysocki with six. The forward registered goals in four matches on the season, three of which were CCC match-ups. Her first collegiate goal, a game winner, came against Wellesley in a 3-1 win before she got on the board again against Salve Regina in a 5-0 win. The very next match, she tallied her third career goal against Eastern Nazarene in the team's 3-0 win before closing with her first career hat trick in the team's 8-1 win over the University of New England. Joseph closed the regular season with 12 points, good enough for third on the team.
Joining Joseph on the All-CCC first team was midfielder Madison Missinne whose two-way play was crucial to the team's success in the regular season. Missinne finished first on the team with 15 points, first in game winning goals with four and tied for the team lead in goals with six. On the season, the senior notched five multi-point efforts as she scored game winning goals against Salve Regina, Eastern Nazarene, Curry and Gordon, all CCC opponents. Five of her six goals on the season came against CCC competition as she set a season high with four points and two goals against Gordon in the regular season finale, a 3-0 win for the Gulls.
Donnelly, Endicott's starting goal keeper, joined Person as Endicott's defensive representatives on the All-CCC first team. The junior played a pivotal role in guiding Endicott's defensive unit to a league leading four goals against allowed in CCC play, for a 0.44 goals against average. Donnelly, who played and started in 18 of the team's 19 matches, finished first in the CCC in fewest goals against (4), goals against average (0.49), save percentage (.911) and tied for first in wins (7) and losses (1). The goalie also ranked tied for second in the conference with four shutouts.
Second team honoree LeeAnn Card was critical to Endicott's success as she played out of the center mid position all season. The sophomore notched two goals and two assists on the season, with one of her goals being the game winner against Smith. Her second goal came against Wentworth as both of her assists came in the team's 8-1 win over UNE.
Mansfield, who with Person, was an anchor on the stingiest defensive unit in the CCC, joins Card on the All-CCC second team. Mansfield registered three points on the season, a goal against smith and an assist against UNE. The goal was the first of her career and her assist was her second. Mansfield played a major role for a unit that held opponents to a .075 shot % on the season and allowed opponents to total just 37 points in 19 matches.
Wysocki, one of Endicott's talented freshmen, finished second on the Endicott roster with 13 points and tied for first with six goals. In the biggest match of her young career, the forward rose to the challenge and notched two goals against then undefeated and #13 nationally ranked Roger Williams as the Gulls upset the Hawks 2-1 in 2OT. Wysocki netted the first goal of her career in the 64th minute before netting her second in the second overtime period to give Endicott the 2-1 win. The freshman would go on to record four more goals on the season, three of which came against CCC competition, including the game winner over UNE. Wysocki also recorded her first career assist on the game winning goal over Salve Regina.
Head coach Jodi Kenyon, in her ninth year at the helm of the Endicott program, received CCC Coach of the Year honors for the third time during her tenure after guiding the team to an 8-1-0 CCC record and 13-5-1 record overall in the 2013 regular season. Kenyon, who was previously named Coach of the Year in 2006 & 2009, directed her squad to a conference leading 28 goals in CCC play. The team also tied for the top spot in assists with 19. Endicott also featured the top defensive unit allowing just four goals in conference play all season. Under Kenyon, Endicott is now 140-47-13 (.700) overall and 90-11-2 (.874) in CCC play. The Gulls will look to capture their fifth title under Kenyon's leadership when they begin their 2013 CCC Tournament run as the top seed on Saturday.
