BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team fell 4-1 to No. 25 nationally ranked Tufts on Tuesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.
The Jumbos opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the game off of a corner kick set piece.
However, the Gulls quickly responded right off the following kickoff, as Morgan Hubert (Southington, Conn.) found space inside the box and hit Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.) with a perfect cross, which Donahue then proceeded to calmly tap it in at the back post, equalizing the game at one.
The score remained knotted at one apiece through the end of the first half.
Tufts found the back of the net in the 48th and 62nd minutes to give themselves a two goal advantage with 18 minutes to play in the contest. The Gulls offense piled on the pressure in an attempt to comeback with eight recorded shots in the second half, but were ultimately unable to catch the visitors.
The Jumbos scored their final goal with just two minutes remaining to close out the game by a 4-1 score.
Endicott goalkeeper Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) tallied five saves in her first career loss.
