BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team rallied past Wheaton (Mass.), 2-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium.
After falling behind 1-0 just 4:53 into the contest, the Gulls' attack came alive when Rhiann Dugan (West Boylston, Mass.) drew a penalty kick in the 54th minute to give the hosts a chance at an equalizer.
Alyssa McColl (Stoughton, Mass.) was chosen as Endicott's shooter, and the senior midfielder cashed in on her first career penalty kick to even up the match (53:25).
With less than 15 minutes remaining, Emma Spear (Needham, Mass.) recorded the game-winning goal off her left foot with a one-timer shot into the top right corner of the net following a right flank cross from Sofia Agudelo (Avon, Conn.) at the 77:43 mark.
Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) also made one save in a relief effort tonight to earn the win (1-0-0 overall, 6-3-2 career).
