BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Curry College, 1-0, on Wednesday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Hempstead Stadium.
Tied late in the first half, Finley Barker (Underhill, Vt.) broke the stalemate at 43:46 when she one-timed home her first collegiate goal from point-blank range.
Sofia Agudelo (Avon, Conn.) generated the scoring opportunity up the right flank with a clinical individual effort.
After gaining possession on the wing, Agudelo backed down her defender just enough to create space for a skilled 1v1 move.
The speedy freshman forward faked a cut inside, but played a pass to herself with her right foot outside into space, eventually looping around her defender before regaining possession and sending a one-touch cross on a string to Barker in the center of the box.
Endicott dominated the contest from there, outshooting the Colonels 30-0 (12 shots on goal, 1 team save in each half).
In goal, Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) improved to 5-3-0 on the season (2nd shutout this season, 5th career).
