Nicole Leveille Earns Co-Rookie of the Week Honors

Beverly, MA-- The Commonwealth Coast Conference recognized first year player, Nicole Leveille (Atkinson, NH) as the Co-Rookie of the Week due to her outstanding play on the tennis court. This marks the first time Nicole has earned this acknowledgment in the 2004 season.

Nicole did not lose a set in racking up six wins in as many tries. She was the only singles player to win against Regis College, and recorded the team's only doubles win with the help of her doubles partner, Stephanie Branch.

"It gives a coach great pleasure to see an athlete really want to improve and work hard to achieve her goals," Head Coach Gale Bacon commented. "Nicole is a natural athlete who has done just that, and she has been a wonderful addition to our tennis team."

On Wednesday, EC defeated Gordon College in the CCC quarterfinals, 6-3. In the regular season match up, EC lost to GC, 8-1. The Gulls advance to the next round where they face the \#1 seed Salve Regina. The team currently post an 8-5 overall record, and are 5-4 in the CCC.
