Gulls Win Eighth Straight Match

BEVERLY, MA -- The Endicott College women's tennis team extended its season-opening winning streak to eight games with a 7-2 victory over Salem State College in a non-conference match Monday afternoon.
The Gulls (8-0, 6-0 CCC) lost at first and second singles before sweeping the remaining games to keep their undefeated season in tact.
No. 3 singles Nicole Leveille (Atkinson, NH/Timberlane)won 6-4, 7-5; No. 4 Allison Auer (Bedford, NH/Trinity) was a 6-5, 6-4 winner; No. 5 Laura Bernstein (Gloucester, RI/Ponaganset) came out on top 6-4, 7-5; and No. 6 Kate Fiske (Gloucester, RI/Westerly) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner.
Doubles winners were No. 1 Kate Roundy (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury)-Carli Conners (Medina, OH/Medina), 8-1; Blythe Langley (North Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet)-Auer, 8-0; and No. 3 doubles Fiske-Bernstein, 8-3.
Endicott travels to Curry Wednesday (3:30 pm) for its second to last CCC contest before embarking on the league playoffs beginning Monday, October 11.
