Gulls blank Eastern Nazarene 9-0

Quincy, Mass. – The Endicott women’s tennis team pieced together back-to-back wins for the first time this season after a convincing 9-0 victory at Eastern Nazarene. The Gulls improve to 4-3 on the season and 4-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference while the Lions drop to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in TCCC play.
All six singles players earned straight set victories. \#Kate Cioffi\# (Essex, Vt.), \#Gina Pinciaro\# (Beverly, Mass.), and \#Rachel Fenstermaker\# (Somerset, Mass.) did not drop a game at number one, five, and six singles, respectively.
Freshman \#Melanie Weinick\# (Colchester, Conn.) remained unbeaten on the year with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number four singles. She also teamed with \#Kerri Dunn\# (Middleton, Mass.) for an 8-0 victory at number three doubles.
Dual-winners also included Cioffi, Pinciaro, \#Emily Annis\# (Hampton, N.H.), and \#Kristen DiFillippo\# (Lynnfield, Mass.). Cioffi and Annis cruised to an 8-0 win at number one doubles while Pinciaro and DiFillippo teamed for an 8-3 decision at number two doubles.
The win came three days after the Gulls handled TCCC-foe Wentworth Institute of Technology 8-1. With a 4-1 conference mark, the Blue and Green stand tied for fourth with Colby-Sawyer and Roger Williams.
On Tuesday, Endicott plays host to Western New England College at 3:30 pm. The Golden Bears are winners of two of the last three matches and are currently tied for sixth in the conference at 2-3.
