Jamie Zompa Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Honors

CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Women's At-Large Release

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's tennis senior Jamie Zompa (Marlborough, Mass.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Women's At-Large NCAA Division III First Team. Zompa is only the second student-athlete in program history to earn this honor, and will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America® honorees will be selected later this month. 

Additionally, Zompa was one of 13 student-athletes named to the NCAA Division III First Team, and the only tennis student-athlete selected among the group. 

Zompa earned a place on the CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Women's At-Large NCAA Division III First Team behind her 3.95 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as an accounting major and member of the Honors Program at Endicott. 

Along with her outstanding GPA, Zompa's other academic merits also include the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, three CCC Academic All-Conference honors, three Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete accolades, and multiple Dean's List and Endicott Academic Varsity Club selections. 

Zompa also is a member of DECA, Endicott's GULL Revolution student-athlete fan organization, the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), has won three conference championships with the women's tennis program and served as a captain of the team the past two seasons.

Her career records as a student-athlete include an 18-8 mark in singles play and a 13-8 record in doubles. 

CoSIDA, which began its recognition of NCAA scholar-athletes in the 1950's, has honored more than 15,000 deserving athletes across all divisions in 12 sports. To be eligible for the at-large program, a student-athlete maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. 

Sports eligible for the at-large program are Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Men's and Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rifle, Women's Rowing, Men's and Women's Skiing, Men's and Women's Swimming, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo, Men's Wrestling.
