Women's Tennis Falls Short In Tightly Contested Matchup Against Nichols, 5-2
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team fell to Nichols, 5-2, in a Conference of New England (CNE) clash at the South Campus Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.
Nichols captured the doubles point after taking two out of the three flights.
Endicott's pairing of Abbey Fleming (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) registered a commanding 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Woods coasted to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6, while Milana Montini (Southbury, Conn.) won her match 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 5 slot.
At No. 4, Nadia Uzelac (Waltham, Mass.) battled through a hard fought three-set match as she narrowly missed out on the victory, 2-6, 6-2, 0-1 (9-11).

"The women fought well and I feel like the score did not reflect the result of the match," said Endicott women's head coach Dejan Stankovic. "We just have to take the postives away from today and keep moving forward."
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls are now 25-18 against Nichols in the all-time series.
- The Blue and Green drop to 4-2 at home this season.
- Uzelac took her first loss in singles play this season (8-1).
