BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Endicott women's track and field team rewrote the program record books on Sunday evening at the University of New England (UNE) Invitational, which was hosted at Biddeford High School.
All told, the Gulls produced 16 top-10 all-time finishes, shattered three school records, and produced nine personal records (PRs) against the Nor'easters.
For the second straight week, Hevyn Pray (Rehoboth, Mass.) broke her own program record in the 100-meter dash with a first place time of 13.41 (13.48 previous record).
Bianca Del Maestro (Malden, Mass.) also broke the school record in the high jump by nearly three inches (4-feet, 11.75-inches | 4-9) and Gates MacPherson (Thorold, Ontario) smashed the school record in the discus by almost 10 feet (97-feet, two-inches | 86-3) to highlight the Gulls. Both performances took top honors in each event.
TOP QUOTE
"Today was another great day to get out and compete. It was a fun dual meet against UNE and awesome to see another young program out there in the conference," said Endicott women's track and field head coach Spencer Lange. "The team pushed themselves today, and, as a result, we saw some PRs [personal records] and school records posted today. Their hard work during this past year is really paying off. As we move into the final weeks of the season, it's nice to have a solid reference point of where everyone's fitness is at."
