NCAA REGIONALS: Gulls Make History On Day Two

WATERVILLE, Maine — The Endicott women's track and field team scored points for the first time in program history at an NCAA Championship on Saturday evening at the Division III New England Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Colby College.

Nicole D'Angelo (Readfield, Maine) was responsible for the historic feat as the senior placed seventh overall in the shot put with a toss of 37-feet and 2.25-inches to score two points for the fifth-year program.

The Gulls have competed in two indoor NCAA Championships and two outdoor NCAA Championships since the program was started in 2018.

Meanwhile, Endicott's 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Jordan Williams (Boxford, Mass.), Kira Charrier (Dartmouth, Mass.), Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), and Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) also placed 18th overall in a school record time of 4:22.80.

The quartet smashed the previous school record by more than five seconds (4:27.89, 2/19/2022).

The school record performance was the second for Endicott this weekend as the Gulls' foursome of D'Angelo, Williams, Ava Esmay (Underhill, Vt.), and Rischitelli shattered the 4x200 meter relay record last night by nearly four seconds (3.27) with a time of 1:52.63 for 10th place overall out of 16 teams (first top-10 finish in an NCAA Championship in program history.

Endicott opens up its 2022 outdoor season at the Elmer Swanson Classic, hosted by Wesleyan University, on Saturday, March 26.
