CNE CHAMPIONSHIP: Suchy Captures 3,000m Steeplechase Title On Day One
WENHAM, Mass. — Endicott sophomore Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) won the 3,000m steeplechase at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Friday evening.
WENHAM, Mass. — Endicott sophomore Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) won the 3,000m steeplechase at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Friday evening.
Suchy led the race wire-to-wire, crossing the finish line in 11:44.77, to become the first student-athlete in program history to claim gold at conference championships in the event.
Her time was 29 seconds faster than the runner-up in the event (11 competitors) and less than a second off pace from breaking the school record (Emma Farrington, 11:43.78, 5/3/19).
Last season, Suchy earned runner-up honors (silver) at the conference championship meet with a time of 11:54.85.
