Griffith & Brown Secure CNE Weekly Awards
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's track and field student-athletes Abby Griffith (Franklin, Mass.) and Tiana Brown (Nashua, N.H.) have earned Conference of New England (CNE) Field Athlete of the Week and Track Rookie of the Week accolades, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Griffith placed first overall in the triple jump (35-9.50) and second in the high jump (5-1.75) at the Jim Sheehan Invite on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Fitchburg State University.
Her triple jump performance also eclipsed the NCAA D3 New England Championship provisional auto-qualifying standard of 10.90 meters.
Also at the Jim Sheehan Invite on Saturday, Brown ranked second in the 100m hurdles with a D3 New England auto-qualifying and personal best time of 15.05.
Brown also broke the school record in the 200m dash with a personal best and D3 New England provisional qualifying time of 25.73 (third overall).
This is Brown and Griffith's first weekly award of the season.
