Women’s Track Places Fourth At CNE Championship; Brown Named Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team placed fourth overall out of 10 teams at the two-day Conference of New England (CNE) Championship, hosted at Gordon College.
Endicott scored 100 points to rank ahead of Suffolk (71), Roger Williams (31.50), Western New England (31), the University of New England (27), Wentworth (16), and Nichols (13).
Hartford won the CNE Championship with 181 points, while Gordon (145) and Johnson & Wales (125.50) comprised the rest of the top-3.
The Gulls' point breakdown went as follows: sprints (18), hurdles (31), distance (18), throws (0), jumps (27), and relays (6).
In total, Endicott compiled two first place finishes, five runner-up placements, and two third place performance over the two-day meet (Friday/Saturday).
Freshman sprinter/hurdler Tiana Brown (Nashua, N.H.) headlined the squad by earning CNE Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer honors for scoring the most points by a track student-athlete in the championship.
Brown won the 400m hurdles and placed second in the 100m dash, 100m hurdles, and 200m dash, respectively, for a total of 34 points (10 points for 1st, 8 points for 2nd).
She is the first student-athlete in program history to claim the award (2025 inaugural season).
Student-athletes who place first (gold medalist), second (silver medalist), or third (bronze medalist) in an event earn All-Conference First Team, Second Team, and Third Team honors.
Postseason awards will be voted on by the league's head coaches next week.
Following the voting period, the conference will recognize a Track Athlete of the Year, Track Rookie Runner of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, Field Rookie of the Year, and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Coaches will also vote on winners for Coach of the Year and Community Service Team.
GOLD MEDALISTS
- Abby Griffith (Franklin, Mass.) won the triple jump for the second straight season, posting a mark of 35-10.25.
- Brown cruised to a school record winning time of 1:03.80 in the 400m hurdles, surpassing her previous school-best by 1.12 seconds.
SILVER MEDALISTS
- In the 100m hurdles, Brown was edged out at the finish line for gold, as the freshman came away with a second place performance in 14.85 seconds (winning time = 14.84).
- Brown also ranked second in the 100m dash, breaking her school record with a time of 12.29 seconds (previous record, 12.34, 4/10/26).
- Not to be outdone, Brown added another silver medal to her trophy case later in the meet, placing second in the 200m dash, trimming down her school record time to 25.71 (previous record, 25.73, 4/4/26).
- Logan Baxter (Coventry, R.I.) earned runner-up honors in the pole vault, clearing 9-6.25.
- Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) nearly chased down the 3,000m steeplechase school record, finishing second in 11:43.95 (school record, 11:43.78, Emma Farrington, 5/3/2019).
BRONZE MEDALIST
- In the high jump, four student-athletes cleared 5-1.50, including Griffith, who earned third place based on jumps.
- Shepard registered a bronze medal performance in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:50.06.
