Volleyball takes down UNE, Regis

Biddeford, Maine – The Endicott women’s volleyball team swept a pair of The Commonwealth Coast Conference matches on Saturday, downing host University of New England 3-0 before handling Regis 3-1 to improve to 9-3 overall and remain unbeaten (3-0) in conference play.
Down 24-22 in the second set, Endicott College won five of the next six points to take the frame and went on to defeat the University of New England, 3-0, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action Saturday morning from the Campus Center.
The victory was the Gulls 16th consecutive win over the Nor’easters. The match was the first in conference play for the Nor'easters, who fall to 4-5 overall.
Junior \#Elyse Barbour\# (Greenville, R.I.) and sophomore \#Falyn Torelli\# (Pelham, N.Y.) each registered eight kills for Endicott, while junior \#Sarah Allshouse\# (Berthoud, Colo.) tallied 27 assists. Senior \#Ally Murphy\# (Gilford, Mass.) totaled 23 digs while and freshman \#Callie Dolan\# (Westford, Mass.) notched four aces.
For UNE, first-year Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) racked up nine kills, and sophomore Lindsey Cashell (Merrimack, N.H.) added six kills to go with nine digs. First-year Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) posted a double-double with 15 assists and 15 digs.
After splitting the first two sets, Endicott College surrendered just 23 points over the final two sets to earn a 3-1 The Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Regis College.
Four players recorded six or more kills to pace the Gulls’ attack. Senior \#Brittany Phillips\# (Sudbury, Mass.) led the way 11 kills while adding 15 digs and four service aces. \#Elyse Barbour\# (Greenville, R.I.), \#Callie Dolan\# (Westford, Mass.), and \#Falyn Torelli\# (Pelham, N.Y.) notched eight, seven, and six kills, respectively.
Endicott received 34 assists from junior setter \#Sarah Allshouse\# (Bertoud, Colo.). Sophomore \#Gillian Kucharski\# (Avon, Conn.) tallied a team-high 18 digs.
For the Pride (3-7, 0-1 TCCC), first-year Angelica Endara (Boca Raton, Fla.) posted a double-double with 10 kills and 19 digs. Senior Meghan McCarty (Billerica, Mass.) and sophomore Megan Pratt (Rockland, Mass.) each registered nine kills, while senior Randi Garrity (Reading, Mass.) recorded 27 assists. First-year Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) had 22 digs.
The Gulls are off until Friday when they compete at the MIT Invitational. The Blue and Green will take on Springfield (4:00 pm) and Colby College (6:00 pm) on day one of the two-day tournament.
