DANBURY, Conn.- The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week for the week ending October 4, and Endicott's Cydney Pierce (Santa Barbara, Calif.) has been named DIII New England Libero of the Week for the second time this season.
This marks the seventh time in program history that an Endicott player has received a weekly award from the ECAC, joining current teammates Lauren Sheehan (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) Erika Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) as the only active players to have received the honor.
As a sophomore, Pierce has posted 317 digs to date on the season, topping her season total during her freshman campaign by 20 already. Over the past week, Pierce averaged 6.00 digs per set in a 1-1 week for the Gulls that consisted of a 22 dig performance in the team's 3-0 sweep of Curry, and a 20 digs effort in the 3-1 setback to Roger Williams.
