    • Gulls Tabbed as Top Seed in 2015 ECAC DIII New England Championship

    DANBURY, Conn.- Following a 22-10 season that saw Endicott fall to Gordon 3-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals, the women’s volleyball team has been named the No. 1 seed in the four team ECAC DIII New England Women’s Volleyball Championship. The Gulls will take on No. 4 Anna Maria at 11:00 a.m. in North Adams, Mass. as MCLA has been named the host institution.

    DANBURY, Conn.-  Following a 22-10 season that saw Endicott fall to Gordon 3-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals, the women's volleyball team has been named the No. 1 seed in the four team ECAC DIII New England Women's Volleyball Championship. The Gulls will take on No. 4 Anna Maria at 11:00 a.m. in North Adams, Mass. as MCLA has been named the host institution.

    The one-day tournament sees No. 2 MCLA take on No. 3 Lesley at 1:00 p.m. in the other semifinal with the winner of each match advancing to the championship that is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.

    Anna Maria advanced to the ECAC Tournament after a 17-15 season that saw the AMCats fall to Emmanuel 3-0 in the GNAC Quarterfinals. Endicott is 12-1 all-time against Anna Maria dating back to 1995 as the two schools used to be conference foes. The Gulls have won the last nine straight contests against the AMCats, with the most recent being a 3-0 sweep in September of 2010.

    The two squads had six common opponents in 2015 in Simmons, Eastern Nazarene, Salem State, Wentworth, Saint Joseph's (Conn.), and Simmons. Endicott and Anna Maria combined to go 12-0 in those matches with Endicott not dropping a set after posting six 3-0 sweeps. Anna Maria lost a combined five sets in those matches.

    Endicott has competed in the ECAC DIII New England Tournament six previous times, advancing to the championship match on two occasions, last year and in 2010.

    THE REST OF THE FIELD

    No. 2 MCLA (23-10, 5-1 MASCAC) – The Trailblazers fell to Framingham State 3-0 in the MASCAC Championship.

    No. 3 Lesley (16-9, 7-1 NECC) – The Lynx fell to Regis 3-2 in the NECC Championship.

    Semifinals – Saturday, Nov. 14 at MCLA

    No. 1 Endicott (22-10) vs. No. 4 Anna Maria (17-15) – 11 a.m.
    No. 2. MCLA (23-10) vs. No. 3 Lesley (16-9) – 1 p.m. 

    Championship – Saturday, Nov. 14 at MCLA

    Winner Semifinal #1 vs. Winner Semifinal #2 – 3 p.m.
