CNE CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 3 Endicott Falls To No. 1 Wentworth, 3-1
BOSTON, Mass. — The No. 3 seed Endicott women's volleyball team fell in the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship to No. 1 seed Wentworth, 3-1, with scores of 21-25, 23-25, 25-18, and 21-25.
Three Gulls paced the attack in the contest with double-digit kills, as Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) led the way with 23 kills along with tying team-high 13 digs. The junior also finished with a match-high four service aces.
Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) recorded a double-double as well as she went for 14 putaways and 13 digs whille Angelina Fitzharris (Webster, N.Y.) recorded 13 kills.
Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) facilitated the offense with a match-high 45 assists in the match and also finished with 10 digs.
Defensively, Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) finished with 13 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Third consecutive season Endicott and Wentworth have squared off in the conference championship match.
- Fitzharris tied a career-high in kills.
- Helenbrook finished the season with three straight matches of 20 or more kills.
- Maguire's 1,057 assists this season rank ninth all-time for a single season.
WHAT'S NEXT
Wentworth (23-4) now awaits the NCAA DIII Women's Volleyball Tournament Selection Show which is scheduled for Monday, November 17 at 1 PM to find out their next opponent. Endicott sees its season come to a close with a record of 17-12.
