Women’s Cross Country Bests Gordon In “Battle Of The North Shore” For Seventh Straight Season
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's cross country team defeated host Gordon College in the "Battle of the North Shore" dual meet on Saturday morning.
Endicott edged Gordon, 25-32, to improve to 7-1 overall in the all-time series (started in 2017).
Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) finished second overall on the 5-kilometer course with a time of 19:32.62.
Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) followed in third place (19:49.08), while Raegan Gagne (North Attleboro, Mass.), Corinne Robert (Mattapoisett, Mass.), and Lulu Steele (Bedford, Mass.) rounded out the rest of the scoring lineup (5th — 20:20.76 | 6th — 20:54.30 | 9th — 21:30.18).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Second career runner-up finish for Shepard in the "Battle of the North Shore" dual meet (2022).
- Suchy, Gagne, and Robert all posted personal bests.
- The Gulls placed six runners inside the top-10, including Allie DeVoe's (Ridgefield, Conn.) bookend performance (10th — 21:31.76).
- Gagne and Rebecca Zuniga (New Braunfels, Texas) made their collegiate debuts (Zuniga, 12th, 21:40.11).
- Alyson Bortz (Dover, N.H.) also finished 15th overall (21:50.97), helping Endicott's entire lineup to an average 5k time of 20:25.39.
